The Enhancing Life Fund
The Enhancing Life Fund pays for the projects that make Southmayd Home a better place to live. Southmayd’s endowment covers about half the actual cost of care for each resident, and the Enhancing Life Fund helps with what the endowment can’t reach: improvements to our historic home and extras that bring comfort and joy to daily life.
The General Fund
The General Fund supports the everyday care and running of Southmayd Home. It helps cover what it takes to give our residents a safe, comfortable, and welcoming home each day: meals, staff, utilities, upkeep, and the many small things that make a house feel like home.
A gift to the General Fund goes where it’s needed most, so Southmayd can meet the needs of our residents as they come up.

For generations, Southmayd Home has given women over the age of 60 in Waterbury a place to call home. Your gift helps us make improvements, fund activities, and continue a 128 year legacy of subsidizing roughly half the cost of living for the residents who call Southmayd home.
