Southmayd Staff Training 2009

Staff training is on-going at Southmayd Home. Recent highlights include:

• 4 employees attended an OSHA Personal Protection Equipment training session in Shelton.
• Two employees attended a workshop discussing Pandemic Flus and how to prepare for them at St. Mary’s Hospital
• We had an in-house follow-up program regarding Bloodborne Pathogens and Hepatitis B vaccinations
• Ten employees were recertified in the Heimlich Maneuver and CPR. This 4 hour heart saver course taught adult, child rescue CPR and foreign body management.

Southmayd offers regular in-service training and off-site workshops to our staff to better prepare them for emergencies: whether they be at Southmayd Home or in their own personal environment.
