December, 2009

For more than one hundred years, Southmayd Home has provided a safe and nurturing, family-like home to women over the age of 60.

Our unique situation presents unique challenges:

Imagine creating a cheerful and stimulating environment on a daily basis for our 35 residents whose average age is 90…

Imagine maintaining one acre of landscaped grounds and gardens…

Imagine replacing the steam boiler of an 84 year-old building…

Imagine sustaining a not-for-profit residential community with a philanthropic philosophy in these economic times…

These challenges offer unique opportunities and we invite you to join our Southmayd Home Enhancing Life Project.

The enclosed material will help you discover some of the ways you may contribute to the enhancement of our residents’ quality of life.

We hope you will consider working in partnership with Southmayd Home as we carry on our mission into our second century!

The Southmayd Home Board of Directors joins me in thanking you for your thoughtful consideration and support.

Barbara (Bonnie) Leavenworth,
President Board of Directors
